Students are required to complete their compulsory internships uninterruptedly for 20 working days during the summer or interim period, and submit their internship reports within a maximum of 10 working days following the completion of the internship. Conducting a compulsory internship during the academic semester is not deemed appropriate. Students conducting their compulsory internship during the summer period must not take courses from summer school simultaneously. Students who wish to conduct their compulsory and voluntary internships consecutively as part of a long-term internship must:
Conduct the first 20 working days of this internship as a compulsory internship,
Enter the compulsory and voluntary internship application forms into the system separately, ensuring that the start/end dates of the two internships do not overlap,
Submit their internship reports within a maximum of 10 working days following the completion of the compulsory internship.
Students who wish to conduct a voluntary internship during the academic semester may be allowed to do so upon obtaining the approval of their internship coordinators, provided that their course schedules are finalized (as of the add-drop period) and they have at least two full days of openings in their weekly schedules.
The (i) internship report, (ii) intern evaluation form, and (iii) internship venue evaluation form must be submitted to the internship committee member within a maximum of 10 days after the end of the internship.
Students are required to answer the questions in the following two forms. After all questions in the forms are answered in English, all pages of the report must be signed and stamped by the responsible person at the workplace where the internship was conducted.

How do I apply for an internship? You must submit your internship applications (voluntary or compulsory) digitally via staj.izmirekonomi.edu.tr. Please review the system user manual.
Does the university determine the company where we will do our internship? The student must find the company where they wish to intern by themselves, according to their field of interest and preferences, and obtain internship approval from the company.
In which time interval should I make my internship application? Since the "Certificate of Provision" (Müstehaklık Belgesi) required for internship applications is valid for 1 month, the application date must not be more than 1 month prior to the start of the internship. Furthermore, it must be made at least 15 days before the internship start date. For example, a student who will start their internship on July 1st can apply after June 1st. The application cannot be made after June 15th.
The information of the company where I will do my internship is not listed in the SYS (Internship Management System). What should I do? Our students need to forward the company information via e-mail to staj@ieu.edu.tr. After the company information is added to the system by us, the necessary notification is sent to the students, and they can then complete their internship applications. The documents required for adding a company are:
Company name:
E-mail address:
Phone:
Full address:
Sector:

I want to do a compulsory internship first, and then a voluntary internship at the same company. How will the process proceed? In such cases, you need to proceed with two separate applications through the system. Your first application will be regarding your compulsory internship and will cover 20 working days. Your second application should include the date range of your voluntary internship.
The digital document was not delivered to the company official where I will do my internship / the company official did not submit the online approval on time. What should I do? After your application, a digital approval link will be forwarded to the institution where you will do your internship for them to approve your internship. You can review the digital platform guide for the institution where you will do your internship here. When your process moves to company approval, follow it for three days. If the institution where you will do your internship does not give online approval within this period, you must download the internship Acceptance form from the PDF file in your application. After downloading the form, have it stamped and signed by your company. Then, without using the Safari browser (e.g., via the Google Chrome browser), upload the form to the internship acceptance form update field located in the Document Updates section, ensuring it is under 2 MB. If you do not upload the form within the specified period, your process will be rejected.
NOTE: The system does not accept files larger than 2 MB. Additionally, it is recommended not to use the Safari browser when logging into the system.
I am having problems opening the SYS web page? (E.g., some fields are not visible.) It is recommended not to use the Safari browser when logging into the system.
In case you experience any other problems or have questions, you can contact:
Our University's Career Guidance department via staj@ieu.edu.tr
By sending an e-mail to the institutional e-mail address of our faculty member who is the head of the internship committee.
