Teaching both at Izmir and Sweden
Making a difference with her successful work in the international arena, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysu Göçer, Lecturer at Department of Logistics Management, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), was selected as a ‘guest researcher’ to the world-renown Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. Lecturing on topics such as sustainability, risk management and information systems in the field of ‘supply chain management’ at the university in Gothenburg, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer sheds light on the career journey of young people at IUE and in Sweden. Going to Sweden periodically, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer stated that she will continue to give lectures and seminars as a guest at Chalmers again in May. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer said, “I love Izmir and my students here. Now I have a different bond with the young people in Sweden. Touching the lives of young people gives me motivation and happiness.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysu Göçer from IUE Faculty of Business has carried out many projects and researches in the international arena, and has many articles published in respected journals. Continuing her studies in different areas such as marketing, risk management, sustainability and supply chain, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer first went to the Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden 4 years ago and gave a seminar; showed her difference with her communication with young people and her knowledge.
Continuing her communication with Chalmers University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer was invited to the university as a ‘guest researcher’. Teaching foreign students who continue their education in Sweden, as well as conducting seminars and research projects, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer successfully represents our country. As her official contract with Chalmers University of Technology will continue until the end of this year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer aims to continue her work in Sweden in the upcoming period also.
I FEEL HAPPY AND LUCKY
Stating that the Swedish adventure was an unforgettable experience with many good memories, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göçer said, “Chalmers University of Technology is a world-renowned university with a large number of students from different countries. Of course, it is an honor to be selected to such a valuable university. I will continue to go to Sweden at regular intervals until the end of the semester. I have students at both Izmir University of Economics and Chalmers University of Technology. It is really a great pride and happiness for an academic. I am a person who loves to be in contact with students and feed off of their energy. At this point, I consider myself lucky to be together with young people in Sweden.”
THEY ARE INTERESTED IN OUR COUNTRY
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aysu Göçer continued as follows: “Sustainability, risk management, marketing, supply chain and logistics services are my areas of work. I share my experiences on these issues with young people. When we don’t have class, I listen to them talking about Sweden and tell them about our country and Izmir. They also ask how the life in Turkey is, the history of our country, places to visit or go for holiday. I find the opportunity to explain Turkey's privileges and advantages to young people.”
