Full Marks to Logistics Managament Students from Logistics Professionals
Logistics management students whose academic advisors are Assoc. Dr. Özgür Özpeynirci, Assoc. Dr Muhittin Hakan Demir, Assoc. Dr Bengü Sevil Oflaç, Assoc. Dr. Işık Özge Yumurtacı Hüseyinoğlu, Asst. Prof. Qing Lu and Asst. Prof. Aysu Göçer explained the real business projects they carried throughout the the academic year. IKEA Turkey Logistics Directorate -Yasemin Usta Seçkin,
SAP Turkey Supply Chain Products Unit- Selim Kayacan, IBM Turkey Hybrid Cloud Sales Unit- Şiyar Laçin, Borusan Logistics IT Solutions Sales Unit Deniz Kantar were among the main company representatives who listened the presentations of students.
After the evaluation of the projects, under the consultancy of Assoc. Dr. Işık Özge Yumurtacı Hüseyinoğlu and Assoc. Dr. Bengü Sevil Oflaç, students named Sinem Birol, Beliz Erten, Öykü Özdemir, Elçin Özek, Selin Şenyuva and Harun Can Turğut's projects named "Developing Distribution Planning in the Automotive Industry: Norm Holding Example" came first. Students produced solutions in their projects on reducing transportation costs, appropriate transportation methods and increasing customer satisfaction.
In the evaluation, under the counseling of Assoc. Prof. Bengü Sevil Oflaç, students named Defne Züher Bellikli, Ezgi Candemir, Aymila Doğdu, Fatih Karaca, M. Mert Ketenci and Azime Nur Özen with the Innovative Culture Creation with Havi Logistics were second. The project titled “Warehouse Layout Re-Design and Improving Inventory Management”, which includes students named Ceren Duman, Mertay Gürel, Mert Karal, Büşra Özkan, Senem Özsoy and Buse Yalçın, under the consultancy of Faculty Member Asst. Prof. Qing Lu, also took third place.
Within the scope of the event, it was organized in the panel titled "Digitalization in Logistics". Opening speech was made by IUE Logistics Management Department Head Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltacıoğlu. Selim Kayacan from SAP Turkey, Yasemin Usta Seçkin from IKEA Turkey, Şiyar Yalçın from IBM Turkey and Deniz Kantar from Borusan Logistics participated as main speakers in the panel.
