Department of Logistics Management
Department of Logistics Management students have been providing consultancy to firms with 68 projects throughout six years.
Department of Logistics Management has been carrying out “University-Industry Colloboration: Implementation of Logistic Projects” with 40 diverse companies and 68 projects in total. The aim is to provide scientific solutions to the problems of industry. For the first years of this colloboration, the projects have been conducted with companies in İzmir, but for the last 3 years, the projects have been carrying out with companies located in diverse cities such as Manisa,Denizli, İstanbul, an even in North Carolina, USA.
Since 2008, the projects conducted with THY, TAV, Coca Cola, Unilever, TCDD, UPS, Pınar Su, Omsan, DB Schenker Arkas, Erbakır has been deemed worthy of an award and this year, for the first time the Project carried out with Ecoland Development (USA) has won the award of “Academic Achievement”. Furthermore, one of the projects has come to life and two projects are applying for TUBITAK programs. The projects increasing the quality of education and making a great contribution to the industry will be demonstrated in 83rd Izmir International Fair.
This year the projects have been evaluated by three juries: Erdem Sözver (Havi Logistics), Cahit Arlı (Gefco) and Farabi Aksu (Graduate Student in Department of Logistics Management) and the best three projects have been announced.
The Efficiency of Logistics/Warehouse Operations has been increased…
The Project titled as “Improving Warehouse Operations Through Layout Design - A Kaizen Implementation” has been selected as the best Project. The aim of the Project is to redesign the existing warehouse in a way that will improve warehouse operations.
To develop a warehouse is much more easy with IUE Project…
The project titled as “Outlining the Comprehensive Flow of Warehouse Design Process” and conducted with the support of Green Logistics Consultancy has been selected as the second best Project. The aim is to help companies that are going to build a warehouse for the first time and companies that needs to renovate their existing warehouse. With this aim, the members of the Project has created a web-site “depokur.com” and introduced it during their presentation.
